Mahatma Gandhi Statue

At Promenade Beach, the statue of Mahatma Gandhi - Father of the Nation, is one of the main landmarks in the territory of puducherry. The famous statue is surrounded by eight granite pillars that are believed to be bought from Gingee that is a fort located 68 kilometres away from the city of puducherry.

Promenade Beach

Rock Beach or Promenade beach (Pondicherry Beach) is the popular stretch of beachfront in the city of Puducherry, India, along the Bay of Bengal. It is a 1.2-kilometre-long stretch in Pondicherry, starts from War Memorial and end at Dupleix Park on the Goubert Avenue.

Auroville Beach

Auroville Beach is a prominent beach, situated near to Auroville in Pondicherry. Located at about 12 km from Pondicherry, it is an ideal place for weekend getaways. Popularly known among the locals as Auro Beach, it offers a picturesque landscape with the crystal blue waters and the phenomenal sunrise and sunset.

Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach is located at a distance of only 8 km from the central bus stand situated in the town of Pondicherry. However, the only way to access this beach is by a boat ride from the Chunnambar Boat House. This boathouse lies along the highway between Cuddalore and Pondicherry.

Chunnambar boat-house which is situated on the Pondicherry-Cuddalore highway, around 7 kms from the main city of Pondicherry. You can reach Paradise Beach by a boat ride from the Chunnambar Boat House.

Sri Aurobindo Ashram.

The Ashram is located in the eastern part of Pondicherry. Inmates live and work in a number of buildings spread throughout the area. The focus of community life is the Ashram main building, usually called simply "the Ashram", which consists of an interconnected block of houses, including those in which Sri Aurobindo and the Mother lived for most of their lives. At its centre, in a tree-shaded courtyard, lies the Samadhi, a white marble shrine where their bodies are laid to rest.
